Turkey's steel pipe exports continue fluctuating trend in January
SteelOrbis - In January this year, the fluctuating trend (see graph below) in Turkey's steel pipe exports continued, indicating a month-on-month decrease of over 15 percent, while the average export price of steel pipe fell for the second month in a row.
According to the statistics released by the Istanbul Mineral and Metals Exporters' Association (IMMIB), in January this year Turkey's total steel pipe exports amounted to 103,892 metric tons, decreasing by 15.7 percent year on year and down 33.41 percent month on month. Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled $92.8 million, down 23.88 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and down 38.23 percent over December 2009.
In January, the average export price of Turkish steel pipes amounted to $893/mt, down $70/mt or 7.23 percent from December and indicating a decrease of $96/mt or 9.7 percent compared to January 2009.
